Martechnic, Oil Quality management experts supported this year’s IMPA Hamburg Event
We caught up with them to find out a little more about what they offer, read their profile below.
Who are Martechnic?
Martechnic is a leading expert in oil quality management. Having been founded a small family-owned business in 1997 in Hamburg, Germany, the company succeeded to secure its international recognition and a solid niche market position of technical solutions for condition monitoring of fuel, lube and hydraulic oil.
For 25 years Martechnic has been developing and designing oil test analysis equipment foron-site application. The company’s products are easy in use and aimed at providing engineers and technical maintenance personnel with effective and independent analysis tools to routinely measure, monitor and analyse crucial oil parameters such as such as water in oil, alkalinity reserve (BN, TBN), viscosity, density, insoluble particles, iron content, cat fines etc.
On-site oil condition monitoring is an essential practice to support smooth running, optimaland reliable performance as well as cost-effective maintenance of on-board machinery, engine and equipment.
What makes your product or services special?
Martechnic offers its customers a wide range of high-quality products: oil test devices andoil test kits, intelligent oil sensor technology, oil sampling bottles and ultrasonic cleaningequipment.
Martechnic’s oil test devices/ test kits enable regular in-service oil analysis to track the changes in the oil condition (e.g., contamination) and to early detect any off-specification issues (e.g., degradation of the oil quality or abnormal wear). So adequate preventive maintenance actions can be taken: relatively minor problems can be fixed and costly machinery damages and unplanned downtimes will be avoided. Oil trend analysis with Martechnic’s testing equipment can help to plan efficiently on necessary machinery maintenance time with a possibility to extend maintenance or oil changes intervals.
Intelligent sensor technology of Martechnic provides for continuous 24/7 oil condition monitoring and real-time data assessment. The automatic early-warning system and programmed alerts of the sensors allow immediate identification of any occurring changes in the oil condition. The detected issues can be tackled at the pre-alarm level during the uninterrupted operation process of machinery. Installation of oil sensors can help technical maintenance personnel to make optimal preventive maintenance decisions, increase productivity and reduce oil sampling intervals.
Oil sampling equipment of Martechnic completed with a unique tamper-evident technology enables collection of representatives samples of fuel, lube and hydraulic oil. A tailor-made and environmentally friendly ultrasonic cleaning technology provides gentle and efficient cleaning of heavily fouled machine parts with difficult-to-reach areas.
What are your reasons for joining IMPA Hamburg?
IMPA is the leading organization in the global shipping industry that unites many businesses of the marine procurement and supply chain. Martechnic as a supplier company of oil test analysis equipment is closely working with the shipping industry. We regard IMPA as a unique international platform that provides valuable guidelines and networking possibilities for establishment of responsible supply chain management and its individual organisation for each company. Martechnic considers it as important to stay informed about the latest developments that purchasing and supply chain are experiencing.
We also prioritize the key concepts of IMPA – sustainability and digitalisation- for our own business with regard to our products and solutions. Sustainable and condition-based maintenance of critical on-board machinery is the key objective for every ship operator and technical maintenance personnel. Thereby optimal oil condition is a requirement for providing smooth running and reliable performance of the engine. Martechnic directs its efforts at proving supportive oil condition monitoring testing equipment to effectively contribute to sustainable maintenance programs of the ship operators. Successful implementation of oil condition monitoring programs can also help to comply with international norms and standards of environmental protection aiming at minimizing environmental impact, supporting sustainable development and saving precious resources.
