The wheels have long been set in motion and the end is now near. Starting June 2022, companies will be able to use IMPA ACT as a comprehensive initiative offering 360-degree support with the full lifecycle of corporate human rights, environmental and economic due diligence. Will you want to place your company’s work on the global standard for responsible business conduct?

For the past year and a half, our team has been working on the biggest update the IMPA ACT initiative has seen since its inception. The goals? Alignment with current best practice on responsible business conduct (including new and emerging laws and regulations in the EU), full migration to a secure web-based tool and a consultancy offering for companies that need more support in setting up a continuous process of social, environmental and economic due diligence. Acting more like a complete reform, these changes, facilitated by the leveraging of existing partnerships, will see IMPA ACT become a sustainability platform for the global maritime industry offering companies a complete solution for:

  • Identifying, preventing, mitigating and accounting for the negative impacts of their operations, and
  • Ensuring that their business relationships apply the same standard (responsible supply chain management).

Bringing members (a) an active sustainability community to share and gain knowledge, (b) a state-of-the-art resource pack with guides and templates that facilitate the work required to meet the global minimum standard for corporate responsibility, (c) a secure web-based, tried-and-tested and long-established platform allowing easy work on the documentation of adverse operational impacts (with a long-standing partner) and (d) training and consultancy in close partnership with sustainability and communication consultancy Alexony, IMPA ACT 2.0 will be the maritime industry’s one-stop shop for aligning business practice with the internationally-endorsed UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and the OECD Guidelines. All IMPA ACT members will be informed of all changes in the coming weeks, while the official launch for the industry will happen on the 1st of June. If you would like to register your interest in advance to make sure you are among the first to find out of the launch, email [email protected].
