IMPA CEO reports overwhelming response to inaugural Seatrade award

Earlier this year IMPA announced that the Association had joined forces with Seatrade Awards and created the very first award for sustainable supply chain management.

The prestigious awards are operated in association with Lloyd’s List and although the Seatrade awards have been operating since 1989 the IMPA award represents a first for the organisation in terms of maritime supply chain.

The Sustainable Supply Chain management award 2021 was announced in April and received an overwhelming response from the industry according to IMPA’s CEO Susan Koefoed who is chair of the judging panel:

“The response has been phenomenal, it’s both heart-warming and fantastic to see so much happening around sustainability, we really have had our work cut out for us in judging the entries!”

IMPA is deeply committed to promoting sustainability within the supply chain and helping members and the industry to navigate through all the activity and focus on key initiatives.

Susan added:

“The high number of entries demonstrates the commitment of IMPA members and the industry to make a real difference to the environment and to improving their company’s carbon footprint, the supply chain can play a vital role in this work”

The award finalists and ultimate winner will be announced in the Autumn and the award ceremony will be streamed on Wednesday 3rd November 2021.

The virtual celebration will take place online, streaming at 10.00hrs GMT and further details will be posted on the IMPA BLOG in due course.
